A restored former clay pit near Aveley. A network of paths leads around several lakes, some of which are used for angling. Wetland birds breed in the dense vegetation around the lakes and it is a good place for dragonflies in summer. .

Visiting

On Romford Road just north of Aveley.

373 buses, running half-hourly from Romford to Grays via Upminster station, run past the entrance from Romford Road.

Accessible at all times.

Spring for birdsong; summer for flying insects and birds about with their young.
